I do have a handful of actual, specific things I'd like to achieve this year, in my craft life, but when I thought hard about what specific stitching resolution I'd like to work on in 2016, my mind kept coming back to hand-quilting. I did this one project, a small wall quilt, in 2014 and I loved every second of it. It took a little while for my hands to get the hang of it, but then I was heartbroken when it was finished. I feel a bit like, with as many projects as I want to work on all the time, hand-quilting isn't a terribly practical activity, simply because it takes so much more time. But I've long been a lover of slow crafts, so perhaps it's time to make more time for hand-quilting in my year!

I like machine sewing, but for me, any stitching by hand is far more gratifying. I have never made a quilt ... yet. But I am sure my first will be hand quilted.
