My Stitchy Resolutions

Polar Bear Embroidery
New year, new stitcheries. Or at least that's the plan!

Last year I did lots of embroidery but not a lot for myself or for pure pleasure. I want this year to be different!

I was really sad that I couldn't take part in the rest of the teams' exploration of stumpwork last year, so I definitely want to learn more about that. I think it has lots of potential for fun stitcheries.

I'm working on a big project for myself, which the polar bear in the picture is part of. Lots of different kinds of embroidery could be part of this, but I haven't settled on which just yet. The main goal is to do lots of stitching.

And make more patterns. Last year wasn't a good year for pattern making, which makes me a little sad. I love making a drawing and then making it almost-3D by turning it into embroidery.

More than any particular thing I want to try, this year I want to complete fun projects and experiment with new and old stitching techniques. Last year a lot of the embroidery felt a bit like a grind..it's time to get some fun back into it. :-)
