My Stitchy Resolution

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (or so it seems), I started to learn how to quilt. I made a simple patchwork quilt top for my eldest daughter featuring one of her favourite fabrics. I then got a bit over-confident and decided I would embellish a bunch of the plainer squares with embroidery.

Then life got in the way and the quilt got tucked away to the back of a shelf.

My stitchy resolution for 2016 is to finish the embroidery and complete the quilt!

I will share with you my progress so far, in all its wrinkled glory, as I get started on the next motif:

A monogram seemed the perfect first embellishment.

I've called my eldest gal "Bunny" since she was born, and this design from Belle & Boo was ideal for another square.

Bunny chose this pretty floral design, which just came out of the hoop last night. I love that this motif came from Carina's book Stitched Blooms, so it has an &Stitches link!

And before bed last night I sketched the next design onto another square - a treble clef for my budding musician, which I'll do in some sort of floral embroidery. I'm actually quite jazzed up to get this quilt finished now! And I will share a bigger picture of the quilt once it's stitched, ironed and ready to show off!

Do you have a long-neglected embroidery project? Dig out those ancient WIPs and join me!

What are you stitching? Please share in the &Stitches Flickr group. We'd love to see it!
