Inspiration: Shiny fabric

&Stitches Shiny

Shiny fabrics give a glowing backdrop to your stitches. Here I've used sheer bits of organza to add an ethereal air to the embroidered flowers:

Silk dupion fabric is ideal for shiny embroidery. It is sturdy, it has fantastic texture and a good weave, and it really shines!

Fabric from The Silk Route. Have you stitched on shiny fabric? Tell us all about it!

What are you stitching? Please share in the &Stitches Flickr group. We'd love to see it!
