Villains Stitchalong: 10 000 Volt Ghost

FictionalVillainsStitchalong-&Stitches

Today I'm sharing my Villains Stitchalong project! It's the 10.000 Volt Ghost from Scooby Doo. Can you hear him sizzle and crackle?

I started stitching my ghost on yellow gingham fabric, filling the ghost shape with lots of shades of orange and simple straight stitches. While I was in the process of appliqueing him to a dark background I thought it would be nice to add a 3d/padded effect to him. I put a little soft toy filling under the applique and I stitched some felt to the backside of the ghost's arms to make them a little firmer. The idea is to let him emerge from the hoop as pictured. To let the electric sparks on his body continue on his arms I've improvised and added something similar to a Turkey Stitch.

It's not too late to stitch along with us and embroider your own villain! You can enter your piece here, and perhaps you'll win one of our lovely prizes! Share your progress on Twitter and Instagram by adding #VillainsSAL to your posts.

What are you stitching? Please share in the &Stitches Flickr group. We'd love to see it!
