Villain Stitchalong: Darth Vader

FictionalVillainsStitchalong-&Stitches Darth Vader Embroidery
As soon as the Villain theme was announced I knew I was going to stitch Darth Vader. My 5 year old daughter loves Star Wars and my original plan was to stitch Darth Vader in black thread on pink fabric. I started looking at coloring sheets to use as a pattern and noticed Darth Vader looks strange with just black outlines, it just didn't have the same feel to it.

So my husband suggested that I stitch the outline in white on a dark fabric and I absolutely love how it turned out. I did stem stitch for the majority of it with a few areas of back stitch. Unfortunately for my daughter though, I think this is destined to become an iPad sleeve for my husband, I started doing patchwork for it to make it big enough. I guess I'll just have to do another Star Wars embroidery for her.

It's not too late to stitch along with us and embroider your own villain! You can enter your piece here, and perhaps you'll win one of our lovely prizes! Share your progress on Twitter and Instagram by adding #VillainsSAL to your posts.

What are you stitching? Please share in the &Stitches Flickr group. We'd love to see it!
