Kristen is the amazingly talented woman behind
Hey Paul Studios. I came across Kristen's work on
Instagram and have been completely enamored with it! She does a wide variety of necklaces and hoops and also hosts a monthly happy hour stitching group in Kansas City, I wish I lived closer so I could go!
When I talked to Kristen she was in holiday craft show stitching mode, here's what she had to say:
I'm working on a hoop for an upcoming market. It's a quote from a favorite Christmas movie. I almost always stitch my words out of order. I'm not exactly sure why but that's the awesome part about embroidery, there are no rules! Im stitching with a Backstitch with all 6 strands of cotton floss, giving it a very plump look. I'm stitching on cotton fabric. I'm stitching away at a new coffee house that I'm trying out in Kansas City.
Kristen is also running
Oh, Brother, a shop featuring donated pieces from artists around the world as a fundraiser for her brother who is undergoing cancer treatment. I'm sending her some pieces soon and there are already some amazing items for sale.
