Mollie Makes book review

MMcover

The lovely folk at Pavilion sent me a copy of the Mollie Makes Embroidery book to review. I was pretty excited about this book as I already own a couple of other Mollie Makes books and was looking forward to seeing what they had come up with this time.
The book features 15 projects from different designers- including our own Carina and Nicole! The projects are fairly simple but include different techniques and some unusual stitches so even experienced stitchers will benefit from adding this book to their collection. The projects would all make lovely gifts- the book includes instructions for making up the finished items as well as all the patterns and templates you need. Projects include a pillow, stitched phone case, clutch bag and lots of other pretty items. As you would expect with a Mollie Makes book the styling and photography is gorgeous.
Below is a selection of the pretty projects inside the book; Mama and baby owls by Michelle Galletta, Pretty posy ribbon runner by Mollie Johanson, Simple stitch hoop pictures by Laura Trimmell and Folk Art throw by Clare Youngs.

As well as the projects there is a section at the back of the book giving advice on materials and equipment, transferring designs and diagrams showing how to do a range of both simple and decorative stitches. The stitch instructions and nice and clear with easy to follow diagrams.
If you enjoy Mollie Makes magazine you will love this book, the projects are bright and cheery and many have a retro feel to them.
Finally, I couldn't review this book without giving you a sneaky peek of Carina and Nicole's projects, could I?
