Loose

Found on Flickr

Cascade

For a moment I thought this captivating embroidery by Andrea Farina was made with real hair. Embroidery with real hair isn't uncommon, I have seen several contemporary examples of it made by embroidery artists. And in Victorian times so called hair art and jewelry was quite popular. The hair on this embroidered lady is made out of loose hanging embroidery threads though. I prefer that actually and it looks real enough to me. :)

What are you stitching? Please share in the &Stitches Flickr group. We'd love to see it!
