Xmas-y star pattern for you!

Julestjerne embroidery pattern for &Stitches

Can you believe it's December already? Wow. How are you getting on with your pressies? Are you stitching any of them? We'd love to see those, of course!

Speaking of pressies! We've got one for you!

A pattern to stitch a woven paper star. Woven paper stars is a really traditional thing to make in Denmark - I have many fond memories of making them with my family as a kid. Actually, I still make them! :-)

And now you can stitch some using this pattern I made! It has a few different sizes so it can be used for different things. And of course you can always scale the pattern if you like. I did the star all in back stitch, but you can use other stitches too.

I'd love to see what you make with the star! As always, please share in the Flickr group. I'm planning on stitching a couple of smaller ones on fake leather to hang.. somewhere.

  2. Thank you for the lovely gift!

I'm working on a couple of gifts. One is on a canvas bag, using a pattern featuring pine and berries. I believe it's vintage. The other is a few sprigs of mistletoe on a handkerchief for my partner. I used to buy mistletoe for him every year, when we lived in California (our home state) but we now live on the east coast of the U.S., and it's much harder to find. I'm hoping the handkerchief will make a nice, sentimental remembrance. I'm hoping to score a few kisses under it, too!
