Stitch-A-Letter-for-our-Header!

1. Sajou Sampler - WIP, 2. eee!, 3. "L" Monogrammed Pillow, 4. Monogram Embroidery Class, 5. Animal Expressions 5  (all examples found on Flickr, click on titles for further details)

Have you noticed our Blog Header? Well if you didn't we don't blame you... We changed it a little bit today but we are not quite happy yet. Our Blog Header needs Stitches!

We thought it would be fun to make a Blog Header with (individual) Letters that you have stitched! Much like the example you see above (we call it 'Ransom Lettering') It needs to spell '&Stitches' so we need: one Ampersand (&), two 's's, two 't's  etc etc. It doesn't matter which 'font' you use (the more the merrier!) or whether your letter is a capital or lowercase letter, as long as the letter is stitched.

To join in: leave a comment on this post with the letter you choose and check (if necessary) if there are any letters not claimed yet so we don't end up with only 'i''s and no 'e''s.  It's ok to have more versions of one letter though so if you are really passionate about stitching the letter 'h' and it's already taken, feel free to stitch it anyway.. ;)

It's important that you make a good photo of your entry because well.. your letter might just end up in our blog header! As you probably know we have a Flickr group, you can post your entries there (please use the tag 'Ransomletter') or alternatively mail them to us at hello@andstitches.com

We really hope you will join in the fun. Please enter before the 30th of April. Thanks in advance for your help!

    1. Initially we were looking for the letters of &Stitches (which does not include a 'g') but I guess we could include the word 'Blog' as well?!? :)

  9. Hey &Stitches! That H looks a little familiar - I'm so honored to be in your header example!!! I love love LOVE stitching letters / text! I'd love to play along - I don't care which letters, (though of course an ampersand would be fun. :) ) Looking through these comments, it looks like you have a lack of Es and only one C. I'll try both of those and throw them in the pool for consideration, if that works out well. I'm excited to see what I can come up with!

  11. I like this idea! I have a pretty nice 'C' in mind, or an 'I'..

Does the color of the background fabric matter? All white?

    1. You can choose whatever background you fancy, as long as it's clear what letter you have stitched. So (for example) white on a black background is fine or blue on a yellow flowery background is fine too :)

  12. I just wanted you to know that I love your blog and read your blog. But I can't make a letter. I'm in school have little time to stitch these days. I can't wait to see all the letters popping up though.

  13. Hello! I love this idea! I'll stitch up an H for you. It looks like someone else is stitching an H, too, but you can have an extra one from me.
