This month, we're challenging ourselves - and you! - to stretch our stitchy imagination and explore new materials for our embroidery. Put down that regular ol' six-stranded floss and play with us!

Throughout June, we'll be stitching with everything BUT regular stranded embroidery floss and sharing the results: crewel wool, yarn, plastic, ribbon, lace, noodles, candy, wire, sequins, fabric, hair - anything goes!

Won't you come play with us? You are heartily encouraged to experiment along with us and try something new, we've even created a simple free embroidery pattern that you can download right here. Members of the &Stitches team will be trying out the same pattern with non-thread materials - let's see what we can do when we think outside the floss!!!

Share your anything-but-floss experiments in the &Stitches Flickr group and tag photos on Instagram with #noflossallowed. We'd love to see them!
