Spotlight: 5 Reasons to Make & Keep a Doodle Cloth, by Needle 'n Thread

I've had this post by Mary Corbet at the always excellent Needle 'n Thread for ages, meaning to share it with you guys: 5 Reasons to Make & Keep a Doodle Cloth. Essentially, a doodle cloth is exactly like it sounds - a spare piece of fabric you keep handy in order to 'doodle' test stitches, colors or threads on before committing them to your project. In this post, Mary shows how she keeps a doodle cloth and shares some really compelling reasons why you should, too! It never occurred to me to do this, but now it seems so obvious!

  1. I have a doodle cloth that I was using for a while, but I'd stopped using it out of laziness. I need to dig it out and start using it again! Mine is felt -- I decided it would make it easier to use if I could get it out and just start stitching on it instead of having to dig out a second hoop to test stitches.
