Color Inspiration: Neutral Basics
Since we're talking practical stitching this month, here's a mini-palette of the absolute essentials for every thread collection. These four neutrals - DMC 310, 3799, Blanc and Ecru are the most practical thread purchases you will ever make. Black and this very deep charcoal (3799, my personal favorite thread) are probably the colors you will buy and replace more often than any other - and although I myself don't use Blanc and Ecru all that often, when you need them, there is absolutely no substitute.
Quick, go check your thread stash and make sure you're all stocked up on these neutral basics!
What are you stitching? Please share in the &Stitches Flickr group. We'd love to see it!

You previously posted about 3799 and it's replaced 310 for me almost entirely. I love it! I've never actually used Ecru, I don't even think I have any. I might need to pick some up to try out.
ReplyDeleteI love to hear about what people are using. I always look for pretty colors and forget about the practical ones. The bobbins are so cute too as well as how you use the label. Cass
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get those bobbins! I love them so much and putting the label inside is such a great idea!
