February Colour Inspiration

AndStitches-colours-feb2014
I don't know about you, but I'm really, really (REALLY) ready for spring. It's not that I mind winter in general, but this winter has just been rain, rain and more rain. Not a single snow flake. I'm ready for some colour on the ground and sun in the sky to dry things out.

This selection of colours, inspired by some random tapes on my desk, definitely reflect the colours I am longing for. Warm reds, pinks and oranges with a bit of spring time yellow and green thrown in. But if you remove the yellow and green this would also be a fairly decent Valentine's palette I think. :-)

What colours are you stitching with right now? Are you longing for spring too?

What are you stitching? Please share in the &Stitches Flickr group. We'd love to see it!

  1. I so hear you--except here it has been non-stop snow and deep cold, and I would love to see the snow piles on the lawn start shrinking.

And yes, in late January, desperate for the sun, I bought myself a nice big pile of marigold-yellow fabrics, yarns and flosses. The fabrics have become a cushion cover and cuddle quilt for the living room; the yarns are going to become a sweater, and the flosses are there just because I was so desperate to see the sun--even in fibre form. It has been a real mood boost.

    1. Sounds like you've been adding some nice sunshine-y fibre projects to your home. Lovely!

  2. Maybe the more we stitch these colors, the faster spring will come. eh?
