Amazing Textures with Sol Kesseler

&Stitches Inspiration

I recently came across the work of Sol Kesseler (aka Flickr user Bugambilo) and became an instant fan. These embroideries are so beautiful and unique, I want them all!

I might be a little obsessed with them, to be honest with you, and I am so inspired by them. Sol was kind enough to tell me about her work and mentioned the very thing I was so taken with - those amazing textures!

I really love drawing, I started to embroider in February and since then no longer stop. In every embroidery, I try to keep the look of ink, and as I love the texture patterns such as tweed, usually dress my characters full of textile patterns. I do not really care much of the stitches but see them as a drawing. These days I'm studying soft circuits, light and sound to incorporate in the embroidered portraits.

I can't wait to see that! Check out Sol's blog to see more amazing work.

What are you stitching? Please share in the &Stitches Flickr group. We'd love to see it!
