Hand Embroidery: Roseate Spoonbill

Sasha of What. No Mints? stitched this bird - a Roseate Spoonbill, apparently, not that I know the slightest thing about birds! - in vibrant shades of coral. Sasha writes that these creatures get their amazing color from their food, and having had a look at some photos of the real-life versions, it's clear she's done a beautiful job interpreting it in thread. Look at that shading, isn't it lovely?!

Sasha's stitched up other gorgeous birds as well as some very cool starry skies and funny phrases, which you can see over on her blog!
